Why Adult Day Health?

Do you need to go back to work, take care of your family’s needs, take care of yourself? Research suggests that day health can benefit everyone by engaging the participant while allowing you to experience less stress (and therefore less illness).

Day health allows your loved one a cost-effective means to remain in familiar surroundings while benefiting from the social and medical care they need. Working with both participants and their caregivers, Project Independence strives to enhance the participants’ quality of life. You will receive individual support in a safe and secure environment.

Our well-rounded program includes:

  • Companionship and social interaction
  • Supervision and personal care
  • Individual health monitoring
  • Medication administration
  • Nutritious home-cooked meals
  • Exercise and therapeutic, stimulating activities

Prevent or postpone nursing home placement by giving your loved one the sense of independence and community that day health provides. Keep yourself healthier and happier with the security of knowing your loved one is in a place where they will thrive.

We are Medicaid certified and funded by other health insurances, handicap accessible and licensed to accommodate 55 participants daily.

Serving seniors and adults with limitations for over 30 years, Project Independence has helped families keep loved ones in their homes and communities by providing skilled nursing care during the day. Serving the greater New Bedford area, our staff is fluent in English, Spanish, Portuguese, and Creole, and are funded by Mass Health and other health insurances.
